The Mexican unit of Volkswagen will restart production of its Tiguan sports utility vehicle on Monday evening, the company said on Sunday, after gas shortages that hit swathes of Mexico last week.

Last week, Volkswagen said they will suspend some production in Mexico on Thursday and Friday due to a limited natural gas supply in the country.

Meanwhile, Audi will restart normal production levels at its plant located in Puebla on Monday, after the supply of hydrocarbons to the industrial segment was guaranteed, the automaker said on Sunday.
