If you happen to be eagerly waiting for the 2016 model year A45 AMG from Mercedes-Benz, well, there may be good news for you. You can now see the car in action already, thanks to this spy video captured by a YouTube user with the ID SuperCarsAllDay. The car caught on tape here seems to be the facelifted AMG variant of the German company’s A45 model.
Of course, as you can tell, the A45 AMG is sitting on the top of the luxury German automaker’s A-Class vehicle lineup. Coming in the form of a hot compact hatchback, the car has been treated with minor visual changes. These changes include a revised front grille, slightly redesigned graphics for the front headlamps and also slightly enhanced front and rear bumpers.
In addition to the minor changes to the visual styling of the vehicle model in question, the car is also coming with a new engine. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG facelift benefits from a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that bursts out 380 HP of power, compared to 360 HP delivered by the engine of the current generation model. It is believed that Mercedes-Benz is increasing the power output of its A45 model in order to take on the Audi RS3 Sportback. The latter features 367 HP of power output that comes from a turbocharged 2.5L 5-cylinder engine.
Last but not least, referring to the most recent reports in the automotive industry, the whole A-Class vehicle lineup from the luxury German marquee is going to be treated with a facelift. The facelifts will most likely make their global debut in the imminent Frankfurt Motor Show that has been scheduled for kick-off in September this year itself.
