3 killed after single-vehicle crash in Adams County

Three people were killed after a car crash in Adams County, Colorado on Saturday morning.

It was around 6:13 a.m. when officials were notified of the crash which involved a 2012 Toyota Highlander near east 136th Avenue and Riverdale Road.

The crash took place when the driver of the Highlander, a 25-year-old man, ran a stop sign, causing the SUV to go off the road before the vehicle landed in a drainage ditch.

The three individuals, a 28-year-old man, a 23-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman, were killed in the crash.

The driver was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Colorado State Patrol investigated the crash and found speed and alcohol to have contributed in the crash.
