A vehicle crash killed five people on U.S. 60/Clarks River Road in Southside Paducah, Kentucky.
After the crash, the area was blocked for several hours on Monday.
The crash involved a truck and a car. It took place at 12:11 p.m. on Monday at mile point 18.5 at the west end of the Clarks River Bridge near Walker Boat Yard Road.
Officials blocked U.S 60 eastbound at Kentucky 1954/John Puryear Drive. U.S. 60 westbound was blocked at the U.S. 60/U.S. 62 intersection at the end of the Ledbetter Bridge, as the officials investigated the crash.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the roadway was resumed to traffic at 6:45 p.m.
Five people, including a 14-year-old from Marion, Kentucky, were killed in the crash.
Investigation showed that a 2001 Volvo semi-tractor was being driven by Frank Holland, 45, of Paducah, with an attached flatbed trailer. He was traveling eastbound on Clarks River Road.
A 2006 Ford Taurus was departing the driveway of a business, crossing both eastbound lanes of travel on Clarks River Road, and the two vehicles crashed in a broadside manner in the eastbound lane.
All five occupants of the Ford were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver is identified as Monica Jewell, 23, of LaCenter, and the passengers have been identified as Trevor Doom, 26, of LaCenter; Eddie Knight, 44, of Eddyville; Alexander Hudson, 14, of Marion; and Linda Young, 54, of Marion.
