Two died in Archdale after crash between car and motorcycle

Two people died following a crash between a motorcycle and a car on Monday night in Archdale, North Carolina

The crash took place shortly before 8 p.m. along South Main Street, Trotter Country Road.

A Honda pulled out from Driftwood Drive onto US-311, just when a motorcycle struck into the driver’s side of the car.

The motorcycle driver was speeding when the crash occurred. The driver has been identified as a 22-year-old named Davis Gordon Rutledge.

The Honda driver has been identified as a 63-year-old named Roger Keith.

Both succumbed to their injuries.

The highway was closed but later reopened after the site was cleared.
