Two people were killed and one was injured after a two-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 15, south of the Utah–Arizona border.
Just before 10 p.m. officials responded to the crash. It involved a black Ford Mustang and a semitractor-trailer.
The Mustang was underneath the semi and there were three occupants inside the car.
The driver of the Mustang was pronounced dead at the scene. His 12-year-old son succumbed to his injuries afterward and his 11-year-old daughter was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
Both southbound lanes of I-15 were shut for almost two hours after the crash.
