That the auto industry crisis is a thing of the past can be concluded from the fact that the sale of Jaguar cars in the month of August 2010 have been a staggering 75 percent higher than what the company could achieve during the same period a year ago. Between the two years the sales has been the best ever in the month of August. A total of 9,952 new Jaguars had hit the road last month. Contributing to that figure were 209 number of XFs and 116 of XKs. August is usually a slow month for sale of cars in the UK, yet there has been such a big change of busy sales as stated by Geoff Cousins who is the Jaguar UK managing director.
The reasons for such a steep turnaround in the sale figures has been attributed by him to the new models that are compelling in looks along with the competitive offers that Jaguar had given. Then of course the advertising campaign that they had launched through the TV media for the XF and the XJ models that too can be considered to have led to a better than expected sales report. His belief is that consumer confidence on the Jaguar brand as a whole has improved a lot and they aren’t apprehensive about putting their money on a Jaguar car. The XKR 75 models from Jaguar each going for £85,500 have already been booked by twenty eager consumer, as stated by Geoff.
There have also been reports from the dealer that just three weeks after an exclusive model had debuted at the Goodwood Festival in July the same was sold off.
“While August is traditionally a quieter month for car sales in the UK, we have had our busiest August for two years. Some compelling new models, competitive offers and a cut-through TV advertising campaign for XF and XJ are helping to drive retail sales.” revealed Geoff Cousins, the Managing Director at Jaguar UK.
