Alfa Romeo Giuseppe Merosi Design Study for developing a RWD Sports Coupe

by Alex Patrick

A new design study that gives us a classy looking GT is the work of Vittorio Jano Sedan in combination with Sport Wagon concepts. Vittorio Jano Sedan is also known for being the creator of the Alfa Romeo model. The new design car has been given a name after Giuseppe Merosi. This individual had worked for Alfa Romeo when it was called A.L.F.A. which was in the beginning of the 20th century. A prototype has been presented by Marco Procaccini from MPcardesign which is a four seater sports coupe with a design that caters for those Alfa Romeo fans who missed out on the rear wheel drive cars.

Marco’s previous work is very much evident in the design of the current Giuseppe Merosi. Hard edges and curved design features of the car comes from the Vittorio Jano factor. There is also the pronounced grille that has been drawn from the Alfa Romeo designs. Measurement of the car is 4,300mm in length, 1,810mm in width and 1,320mm in height and this from the maker’s records.

What an awesome looking design study! This is what an Alfa should look like: aggressive, purposeful, yet classic and beautiful at once. It reminds one of Walter de Silva’s work on the 156. Although this is, dare I say it, even better.

While the Mito & Giulietta are good looking cars, this outshines them by far. Take note, Alfa!

Patrick NIder, are you a moron? You wrote, “…Alfa Romeo when it was called A.L.F.A. which was in the beginning of the 19th century.” You mean Alfa was making cars in the early 1800s? Wow, that is pretty impressive!
