Subaru has recently announced its official plans to introduce the 2015 WRX STI at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).
However the company declined to release further details about the model but did mention that they will unveil their “iconic performance flagship model” at the NAIAS in Detroit.
Talking about the model, nothing is official as of now but there have been various reports previously that have indicated that the car will come fitted with an aggressive body kit that includes wider body panels and a larger rear wing. There are also chances of a number of suspension and chassis tweaks that can be made in order to improve the car’s handling.
Under the hood, power could be provided by a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that would be able to generate an output of 300 hp (224 kW) and 290 lb-ft (393 Nm) of torque. For comparison, the standard WRX comes fitted with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an output of 268 hp (200 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque.
However the details are yet to be confirmed and we can expect more details to be out in the coming months.
