The Renault Talisman is a good-looking French vehicle. It’s readily available as a saloon and as an estate, and its handsome design would make it perhaps one of the more appealing European cars in this sector. A range of engines are readily available, from an effective 1.5-litre diesel to a 200bhp turbocharged petrol, and Euro NCAP has given the model its five-star score.
The Talisman looks much like the Megane and was styled by Alexis Martot, who likewise penned the recent Koleos. These cars share the C-shaped DRLs and the a little exaggerated front and rear light clusters. It has a masculine appearance and talks Renault’s design language more confidently than anything else in the company’s stable. The interior is pretty meaningful too, with good space for all travelers, a huge boot in the estate version and an overall demi-premium feel.
It will not be developed for right-hand drive markets such as the UK, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand, because of the decline in the standard saloon market.
