The incident that we reported yesterday in which a plane slammed into a car and one passenger died due to this incident. Today we got to know her name was Antoinette Isbelle and she was a San Diego roller derby skater.
The person was recognized by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Antoinette “Toni” Frances Isbelle, 38, from San Diego. Isbelle was one of the member of the Starlettes roller derby team with the nickname “Rockalishous”.
The plane, a single-engine blue and white Lancair IV, landed in the northbound sluggish lane of the freeway, about a mile north of state Route 76 at about 9:15 a.m., stated California Highway Patrol Officer Chris Parent.
It skidded some 250 feet and plowed into the back of a 2015 Nissan Sentra having the roller derby skaters. Parent stated the driver, Aaron Mccann, 42, of Escondido, had stopped on the shoulder to sync his Bluetooth when the plane struck the vehicle.
