Art students envision the 2020 Fiat 500 and Panda

by SpeedLux

Fiat and London’s Royal College of Art have finally announced the winners of the “Two of a kind” design challenge.

The students of the Royal College of Art in London were given the task to envision the Fiat 500 and Panda for the year 2020. According to Fiat, the 500 expresses emotion while the Panda is all about functionality and both of them represent the essence of Fiat design.

As many as 51 entries were registered but in the end only 10 winners were selected and their creations were further transformed into clay models. The winners will also receive paid internships at Fiat’s Centro Stile in Turin between July 2014 and February 2015. Most of the students that participated in the competition were part of the Royal College of Art’s MA vehicle design program while the rest of them were from relevant design master programs.

Fiat seems to be quite impressed with the response received for its contest and so they have already announced plans to launch a similar contest next year but details have not been revealed by the company yet.
