Rescue workers were contacted to the scene, aftermath of Hurricane Matthew’s path due to an unusual mishap in Clay County, Florida, last week when a driver reported a bald eagle was stuck in their vehicle’s grill.
Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Clay Fire Rescue workers reacted and thoroughly removed the bird from the car.
The sheriff’s workplace stated in a Facebook post that the eagle was turned over to the B.E.A.K.S. Wildlife Sanctuary, which has housed and took care of injured wild birds on Big Talbot Island east of Jacksonville for more than 30 years.
The bird’s rescuers have named him Matthew, in honor of the storm.
“Great Job by all included,” the sheriff’s office noted.
