By 2016 Driverless cars will race in their own championship series

Robotic cars are going to have their place on the race track from next year.

Formula E, which arranges a racing series for electric cars, is preparing a new “Roborace” that will concern electric, autonomous cars to the examination– power, algorithms, and more.

Presently, no teams have registered for the race, but Formula E believes autonomous car makers, including Google and Uber, will sign in to show off the features of their vehicles.

The driverless races will occur directly before each electric auto race in the 2016-17 season. About ten teams, each with two autonomous vehicles will participate in hour-long races on the similar circuits as Formula E’s driven races.

Eliminating humans from the equation will clearly open up new opportunities. Not only are the Roboraces two times as long as the “regular” electric car races, but the autonomous cars are probably going to sport unconventional shapes to increase aerodynamics. Perhaps the most effective software application win.
