Cadillac 2011 CTS Sedan to come equipped with 19-inch all-season tires

by Alex

A 19-inch wheel was considered as a significant upgrade obtainable or accessible and ready for use particularly in the aftermarket. This is not something that was a very long ago. The wheel sizes have shot up as the arms race to present bigger and not to so great looking wheels.

Factory available wheels sizing above 20 inches are now reasonably ordinary. However, it is important to note that the most of these huge wheels and tire package kits are confined to summer tires. These summer tires are no good and aren’t worth much in cold or snowy atmospheric conditions in terms of temperature and wind and clouds and precipitation.

The 2011 CTS Sedan and Sport Wagon would have the above limitations fixed soon. General Motors has decided to fix it by offering 19 inch all season Goodyear Eagle RS-A2 tires. This kind of offering from GM is the first of its type till date. This upgrade will cost $850 over and above the regular 18 inch wheel and tire package. However, automotive experts and analyst feel its a small price that buyer has to pay for the improved looks in conjunction with an all season road holding ability delivered by the new package.

The Cadillac does not perceive that the buyers would need to worry or think about the handling and performance of the big all-season wheels. This confidence of the Cadillac seems to come from the fact that they have acted purposefully and intentionally to ensure that the tire does not interfere with the suspension dynamics of the super sports sedan. A carbon fiber reinforced sidewalls of the automobile tires help deliver better support and feel than the average all-season tires.

Even though you will lose some grip as against a dedicated performance summer tire you must note it is only for the summer months that the dedicated summer performance tires are designed for that makes them suitable to the temperature and road conditions. However, you will not need a second set of wheels and tires in spring when the weather conditions change again.
