A driver stated he hit the gas rather than the brake Friday, plunging his vehicle into the pool at a Florida motel.
According to West Palm Beach Fire Rescue, the per driving the sports car and the woman who was a passenger were not harmed when the black Hyundai backed through a gate and crashed into the swimming pool at a Holiday Inn Express located in West Palm Beach.
Ethan Coffey informed that he was backing up in the parking lot when he made the incorrect move.

“I was in the driver seat, went to hit the brake but I hit the gas in total freak-out mode and I was swimming,” Coffey said.
A towing company sent a truck to get the car out from the pool.
No one was using the pool when the incident took place, police said.
