The driver of a car lost control and struck right into the Old Navy at the Shops at Boardman Park, Ohio, on Wednesday, hitting over one of the displays.

People said this was unexpected in the middle of the holiday shopping rush.

According to officials who responded to the incident, the driver meant to step on the brake but hit the gas pedal instead, striking the building. The car went halfway into the store, through a wall of glass windows.

HBK Principal Nick Odille observed it when he went to ring the Salvation Army bell for HBK outside of Barnes & Noble.

“No laughter. There was definitely some issue. A lot of empathy for the people that were probably in their shopping and may have had a little bit of a surprise this morning,” he said.

The driver, an older woman, was not harmed.

Construction workers worked as fast as possible to repair the window so the store could resume.

“Extremely disappointed because I have to work in 30 minutes and I don’t have any other time. So I came over here just to get pants and they’re closed,” Porter said.

The store is well-known for its deals, signs indicating 60% off on Wednesday.

The fire chief said there have been no structural damage to the building.

The store said they will probably just wait until Thursday before they will resume the shop.
