Ferrari developing mind-reading technology to aid safe driving

Think before you do something because there may be someone around knowing what is going on in your gray cells. Surprised? Well don’t be. Ferrari is coming up with something eccentric that may change the face of driving vehicles altogether. Ferrari has come up with something that is going to read your mind. Still thinking what kind of joke this may be? Well then, Ferrari has developed a design of a path breaking technology that will have the capability to read the mind of the person driving the car and based on the statistics of the mental and physical reports the car will adjust its stability and traction control of the car.

Let’s know how it’s going to work now. The car will have a set of biometric sensors having piezoelectric transducers to convert the data of the driver from various sensors into a signal. The set of sensors will include a device for measuring the driver’s blood pressure along with the heart rate, a device for measurement of the driver’s respiration rate, a television camera equipped for performing the function of keeping track of the driver’s eyes i.e. the blink rate to determine how much alert the driver is, a device to record the surface temperature of the driver, a device for monitoring the electric activity going on in the driver’s brain and a device for recording the conductivity of the driver’s skin i.e. determination of the degree of perspiration. We hope with all these sensors and transducers it does some damage control over the social menace called ‘drunken driving’.

Ferrari justified the needfulness of this device in the dawn of increasing number of accidents with the drivers sometimes overestimating their capability to drive, miscalculating their mental and physical condition. Nowadays drivers take the cars on a ride on their wish with control completely over the car independent of their mental and physical states. But what this will do is partially take away the control from the driver if needed according to his/her psychological state.

Now the bottom line is that Ferrari thinks we are incapable of handling ourselves and the car as well while driving. We may think that the car will perform some action when it actually may not. But if you take it as an insult, this is absolutely true for some people. We hope this eliminates the chances of driving a car while speaking on the phone or sending text messages while driving. These are basic things that often lead to accidents. We hope with these occurring events the car is brought to a halt. That I think will save lives of many innocent people.
