A Maserati is missing after police say a man fooled a salesperson during a test drive.

Boca Raton authorities say 45-year-old Michael McGilvary II went to a dealer to test drive a $150,000 Maserati GranTurismo.

He and a salesperson drove to a marina so McGilvary could apparently show his girlfriend the vehicle. They walked down the dock, then McGilvary said to the salesperson he would get his girlfriend. When he didn’t show up for 30 Minutes, the salesperson looked for McGilvary. The valet informed him McGilvary had driven off.

McGilvary was detained Wednesday on vehicle theft charges, one day later, however the car wasn’t discovered. McGilvary was being held Saturday by federal authorities on a probation violation. It could not be figured out if he has an attorney.
