Four people died after a fatal chain-reaction vehicle crash in Polk County, Florida.

Officials said a 35-year-old identified as Riquelme Villar-Villalona of Poinciana was a fault for a four-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon on Lake Hatchineha Road.

Villar-Villalona crashed into the back of another driver after which the latter lost control and crashed into another car.

His car also went airborne and struck a fourth vehicle after striking the first vehicle.

Villar-Villalona was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people were also killed during the crash of which one victim succumbed to injuries in hospital.

Officials say Villar-Villalona may have been speeding as he was fleeing law enforcement after he allegedly beat and kidnapped his girlfriend.

The woman was found injured before the crash took place and she was admitted to a hospital for treatment for cuts on her face.
