Four dead after helicopter crash in Hawaii

Four people were killed in a helicopter crash in Hawaii, according to the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) on Tuesday.

The crash took place after 10 a.m. on the island of Kauai. A spokesperson for the PMRF confirmed there were four deaths when the civilian contracted helicopter struck on the northern side of the facility.

PMRF stated the helicopter was “supporting a training operation,” and Croman Corporation was operating it.

It is not known what exactly caused the helicopter to crash.

Officials are investigating the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board said it is investigating this crash which involved a Sikorsky S-61N helicopter.
