Four people died after a two-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 75 near mile marker 209 in Sarasota County, Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 34-year-old Lakeland woman was driving a sedan traveling south on I-75 before she veered left onto the paved shoulder just before 10 p.m. on Thursday and crashed with several pedestrians working to change a tire on a pickup truck.
The vehicle hit four of the seven passengers before coming to a stop.
Southbound traffic on I-75 was shut down for several hours as FHP continued investigation.
