Four people died and some others were injured following a massive car crash involving at least 46 vehicles.
The crash took place in the eastbound lanes on the Ohio Turnpike in Erie County. A stretch of the westbound lanes of the turnpike resumed at 11:25 p.m., about 12 hours after the crash, but the eastbound lanes remained shut.
Fifteen commercial vehicles were being cleared from the turnpike, and “white-out conditions persist”.
Buses were utilized for taking people from the crash site to a regional facility so they could stay warm.
The identities of the victims were not released yet.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
