Four people were killed after a wrong-way car crash that took place around midnight on I-45 in Dallas County, Texas.

The crash took place when the wrong-way driver was heading north in the southbound lanes of I-45, driving with no headlights in the darkness at night before crashing another car.

Ferris police tried going after the car and even warned Wilmer police about it, but it was too late.

A woman and two children in one vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

A man driving the other vehicle was killed, and two children in that vehicle were hospitalized for non-critical injuries.

I-45 was closed for hours as Wilmer police investigated the crash.
