Car fans have been eagerly grasping any news about the car that shall succeed the venerable F1 sports car. The eagerness gets further enhanced by the news of McLaren Automotive’s inception. The internet is already populated with several images and details of that car for the public viewing.
The company has announced a new U.S. distributer and the first of six new dealerships that will be selling the all-new 2012 McLaren MP4-12C in the summer of 2011. McLaren Automotive Inc. is being launched as the official U.S. distributer for its 12C supercar, as per McLaren’s recent announcements. The distributers shall have their headquarters located in New York City catering to the all the operations such as sales, marketing, after-sales and retailer development for North America.
The aforementioned first six dealers would be scattered across Beverly Hills, Chicago, Dallas, Greenwich, San Francisco and Tampa Bay. The selection process of these retail candidates as dealers of the car was a very careful and a thoughtful decision. The deciding factor was these retailers’ experience in the segment and their penetration in the marketplace. The company i.e. McLaren shall also appoint additional retailers in North American locations such as Miami, Orange County, Philadelphia and Toronto.
McLaren has said that the U.S. is a crucial market for the company and is expected to account for as big as 30 percent of the total sales. The dealers are expected to commence their business with McLaren by selling the 2012 McLaren MP4-12C from summer 2011. The base price for the sedan is expected to in the range between $225,000 and $250,000. However, the final prices will be declared in September this year.
The new 12C supercar is set to debut next month at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California, U.S. The 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance participants will have an opportunity to physically view a prototype of the 12C supercar in the Concept Car Lawn in front of The Lodge entrance at Pebble Beach. The car will then tour North America to support events held by retailer candidates.
