More Women Buyers of the Ferrari in China Than Anywhere Else

There are more takers of the Ferrari among women folk in China than anywhere else, including the US or Europe. As per reports, a total of 220 Ferraris found a home in China in 2009 among which about 20% or about 44 of them were bought by well-heeled women who it seems have enough money left for the Prancing Horse after having spared on their usual favorites like clothes and make-up.

Ferrari disclosed that this is about four times more than the figures set by buyers in US or Europe. Ferrari has also revealed that those who are opting for their cars in China are on an average about 10 years younger then their counterparts in the US or Europe. This means that the Chinese already have amassed the wealth needed to go for a Ferrari at an age when their American or European counterparts would only perhaps be settling for the Hondas or the Toyotas.

Meanwhile, China has overtaken the US as the biggest car market in the world, and is ahead of Europe too in this regard. Various reasons have been attributed to the rise of the Chinese auto industry, prominent amongst which is the huge population, a substantial increase in spending power of the average Chinese, which in turn has led to an increase in the demand for cars and is likely to remain so in the coming years.
