As many automobile lovers have already come to know, German manufacturers Audi have already introduced their brand new model 2012 A6 Sedan. The car has created quite a ripple in the auto market. Quite a surprise for all, as this is not the only model that Audi has planned to launch. They are also coming up with the A6 Hybrid model which will take pride of being only a second Hybrid model from Audi after Q5 Audi Quattro. The new Hybrid from Audi is inspired by its predecessor, Q5 Audi Quattro and is assumed to have a 2.0 TFSI engine delivering a power of 155 kW (211 hp). The car is also equipped with an electric motor delivering a power of 33 kW (45 hp) and 211 Nm (155.63 lb-ft) of torque. Quite amazing from Audi!
Audi has stated that the electric motor that the car is equipped with will be placed right behind the TFSI 2.0 engine. The electric motor will use up the space of the torque converter upstream of the modified 8-speed tiptronic. The gearbox sends the torque from the engines to the wheels in the front. Coming to the performance analysis of the car the brand new Audi A6 Hybrid is capable of running at 100 km/h (62.14 mph) purely powered by electricity. The car has a range of 3kms running at a steady speed of 60 km/h (37.28 mph) runnint at a purely electric mode.
The car can race up to the mark of 100km/h (62.14 mph) in a time span of just 7.3 seconds. It can further achieve a top speed of 238 km/h (147.89 mph). The car consumes 6.2 liters of fuel per 100 km, which is equivalent to 37.94 US mpg. The A6 Hybrid car emits 142 grams of CO2 per km of ride (228.53 g/mile). (The performance and fuel consumption figures are provisional). Needless to say, the car will be a very eagerly awaited one for the automobile universe.
