The UK arm of Volvo recently announced the official pricing and full specs of the new S60 sedan that is ready for order through dealerships now with the first deliveries to customers happening this August. The mid-sized sedan starts off at £23,295 for the D3 ES variant and to the top of the line T6 AWD SE top of the line at £36,745.
The new Volvo sedan will come with options for a petrol engine or a choice between two diesel powerplants for its launch. The new 5-cylinder D3 2.0L diesel engine gives out 162 horsepower and a torque of about 400Nm with a combined fuel mileage of 54.3 mpg.
Next on the line is the D5 twin-turbo diesel powerplant that produces 205 HP and a torque of 420 Nm. This engine can bring the car from 0 to 62 mph in 7.8 seconds with a UK combined fuel return of 53.3 mpg.
The gas engine is a 6-cylinder with 3.0L displacement that can churn some 304 HP and a good torque of 440 Nm. This zooms the S60 from 0 to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 155 mph.Fuel consumption is at 28.5 mpg.
The new S60 comes standard with City Safety technology that automatically slows and stops the car from 19mph if the vehicle in front suddenly stops. Other standard features are the DSTC or dynamic stability and traction control, Inflatable curtain airbags, and the whiplash protection system or WHIPS.
The Volvo S60 will be offered in 3 trims namely the ES, the SE, and SE Lux.
The base model ES comes with cruise control, electronic climate technology, audio controls on the steering wheel, 5-inch color screen, leather for the gear stick and steering wheel, and 16-inch alloy rims.
The SE variant adds rear view mirror with auto dimming, BlueTooth, Rear Park Assist, power door mirrors with autofolding feature, rain sensor, Tylosand/Vinyl upholstery, watch dials, Shimmer Graphite aluminum trim, and 17-inch alloy rims.
The SE Lux combines the features of the two lower variants and packs the car with Active Bending Lights, power seats with memory for the driver, leather-faced upholstery, and headlamp cleaning.
