At least nine Pakistani soldiers were killed and four others were injured after their truck plunged into a ravine in Pakistan-administered Kashmir on Sunday morning.

The truck – part of a military convoy – was going towards Mang Bajri in Bagh district in Azad Kashmir when the crash took place near Shujaabad at about 4 a.m.

There were about 13 soldiers, including the driver, inside the truck. Seven of them were pronounced dead at the scene while the rest were injured.

Two of them succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Rawalakot.

The truck fell 500 feet (150 meters) down the ravine.
