One dead after semi-truck, car crash in Springfield, Illinois

Police said one person was killed when a car and semi-truck crashed Friday night in Springfield, Illinois.

The crash took place on Old Route 54/Sangamon Avenue at Camp Butler Road. 

Illinois State Police are investigating the crash. They said multiple lanes are blocked. 

All drivers are asked to avoid the area and look for an alternate route of travel for now.
