One man dead, one woman jailed after car accident in Wisconsin

One man is dead after being hit by a vehicle Sunday night in Beloit, Wisconsin.

Beloit Police said around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, a man was changing a flat tire between his car and a nearby car in the area of Fourth and Maple when another person struck the assisting car, pinning the man between the two vehicles.

The man was admitted to an area hospital where he later died.

“A man was changing a flat tire between his vehicle and an assisting vehicle on Maple. Another driver struck the assisting vehicle, pinning the man between the two vehicles around 8:30 pm. He was transported to a local hospital where he was declared deceased. We send our sincerest condolences to his family and loved ones,” police wrote on Facebook.

The driver was a 27-year-old Beloit woman who police say was intoxicated. She was arrested and taken into custody facing homicide charges. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
