Cops in Burleson say one-year-old Kingston Jackson passed away on Friday after being left alone inside a vehicle for approximately to 5 hours.
Jackson was three weeks away from turning 2 years old, as per his family members.
When officers reached the homes in the 500 block of Southeast Gardens Boulevard, Burleson at around 7p. m. on Friday, they discovered a neighbor performing CPR on the unresponsive child.
Medics dealt with the boy for about 25 minutes. He was then taken to Cook Children’s Hospital where he later passed away.
Investigators say a miscommunication between the victim’s parents caused the mishap. It appears each one thought the other had taken the kid out of the car.
One of the kid’s parents returned to the vehicle around 5 hours later and made the horrific discovery.
No charges have been submitted.
Cops say their investigation is ongoing, however this appears to be an awful accident.
“I think a lot of people aren’t conscious that even if it’s 60,70, 80 degrees outside it does not imply that the interior of a car cant’ get well into 100 degrees,” stated Sgt. Jae Berg.
The high in Burleson at around 5 p.m. was about 81 degrees.
The CDC states with those sort of temperature levels outside of an automobile, the temperature inside a parked automobile with direct sunshine can rapidly climb past 130 degrees.
The child’s cause of death is pending.
