The facelifted Mercedes SL R230 was one of the models that successfully managed to combine luxury and affordability, becoming one of the cars that really matters for many of us. This car is the main target for many tuning companies like Prior Design who just released a few weeks ago their Mercedes SL R230 Black Edition. However, as you probably know already, this good-looking vehicle will soon “leave” the production line, but not before a final upgrade. No, there won’t be any facelift from the brand, but you must know that the German tuner, Piecha Design has just released a new tuning package for all SL R230 models starting at the March 2008 facelift.
The new tuning package for the SL comes with LED lights, three-part front and rear spoiler lip with four new tailpipes which are connected to a stainless steel Piecha Quadro sports exhaust system which has four end tubes in right/left loops.
The package also includes PIECHA MP1 monoblock rims, available at 9.5×20 with 255/30 R20 for the front, and at a gigantic 11×20 with 305/25 R20 for the rear. The SL has also been fitted with a Piecha-lowering module which brings the car 30 mm closer to the road on both axles (-30mm for the coil-spring version, or a Piecha-lowering module -30mm for the ABC-chassis).
Finally, a power converter ensures improved acceleration, and the comfort vario roof module permits opening and closing of the roof at a speed of up to 60km/h.
