Rare 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa under the hammers at Monterey auction house

At the 25th anniversary of the RM Auctions to be held in August and named Sports & Classics of Monterey auction there would be a lineup of some select cars from the world. The ‘Pontoon Fender’ 250 Testa Rossa of 1957 to 1958 heritage would be one that figures at the auction. Designed by Scaglietti only 21 units of this car was produced.

The ‘Pontoon Fender’ had been given to the Brazilian Jean-Louis Lacerda Soares. It participated in races though many seasons in South America and always under the Esquardari Largatixa banner. It has to its credit fourteen years of racing experience and all in the yellow green color combination that denoted Brazil.  It has also to its honour many a winning finishes at these races.

The auction amount is not known, but to take a benchmark, the auction of the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa went for $12 million at the auction held in 2009 and was a record amount as well.
