Renault agrees to deal with unions to work from home

Renault has signed an agreement with French trade unions that will permit thousands of its workers to work from home for up to three days a week, the automaker said on Friday.

The new workplace arrangements will be presented in several stages, beginning from September 2021, the automaker said.

Automaker would would offer support and training on how to work from home.

The system will be voluntary and based on two days of working from home weekly, with an extra day at the manager’s discretion.

The automaker expects 20,000 staff in France to be applicable to take up the offer of remote working which will cover most roles other than front-line production.

Stellantis has also agreed similar arrangements with its French workers.
