Seven people were killed after a van crash in southeastern Myanmar’s Kayin state on Wednesday.

The crash took place at around 8:40 a.m. near Tawnaw waterfall on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Highway when a van coming from the direction of Myawaddy struck a concrete signboard.

“All people on board the car died on the spot,” said a police officer from the Kayin state police force.

The victims included five men and two women.

The dead were sent to Kawkareik General Hospital, Pearl Phyu Emergency Rescue Team said.
