Australian International Motor Show(AIMS) was the perfect place for the Czech republic to showcase the new Skoda Rapid, and this compact-sized Skoda Rapid will initially be offered with a choice of two petrol engines, and diesel engines would arrive later on. The Skoda Rapid is also the first car from the East European brand that showcases the company’s new family look.
The new Skoda Rapid will offer a 1.2-litre 77TSI with 77kW and 175Nm of torque or a 1.4-litre engine with 90kW and 200Nm. And this car measures 4.48 metres in length and 1.7 metres in width, and the five-seat Rapid offers a rather large 530 liters boot against the Octavia, and the next Octavia, which is due in the second half of 2013, is expected to be larger than the current model, defining the gap between the new midsizer and the coming Rapid. ABS and ESC are standard and the occupants will be protected by front, side and head airbags.
The Rapid is expected to be launched in Australia in the first quarter of 2013. Until then take a look at the pictures of the new Skoda Rapid and stay tuned for more updates.
