A 5-ton military truck that was theft from a Monroe business has been discovered deserted in the Cascade foothills.
The individual who discovered it said it was dropped in the snow on Foss River Road close to Skykomish.
The truck came from Shannon Jelenek, the owner of Armageddon Arms. He utilized it to promote for his store.
Jelenek informed KOMO News numerous hours passed Saturday before he even understood the truck was gone.
As soon as he reported the truck had been stolen, sightings began gathering online from all over the area, he stated.
“There’s in fact a video that was posted,” Jelenek stated while pointing to a video that a Facebook user had published online. “Individuals were coming up behind it. There was really a truck hauling it with a tow strap at the time.”
Jelenek stated he parked the truck in its normal spot at around 9 a.m. Saturday and headed to work. When he returned at around p.m., the truck was couldn’t be discovered.
“I’m quite impressed by it,” Jelenek stated. “I get that people like it. I really do because I like it. So, I understand that part of it. The entire theft thing … I’m not a big fan. Undoubtedly I do not like having things stolen.”
Jelenek purchased the truck 3 years earlier. Staff members rapidly gave it the label ‘Kindness’.
“Kindness is missing in Monroe,” a staff member stated Sunday when the truck was still missing.
What’s ironic is Jelenek informed he would have taken the thief for a trip himself. All they had to do is ask, he said.
“They could have asked, yeah,” Jelenek stated with a chuckle. “You know, if they need aid moving I would have helped them move with it.”
Jelenek hopes the truck continues to be in good working order as he plans to utilize it to market once again.
