Three people were killed after their vehicle struck into the back of a tractor-trailer on I-85 in Midtown.
Officials closed the northbound lanes for over three hours while they investigated, resulting in major morning hang-ups on I-85 and every other interstate that goes through the heart of the city.
The officials responded to the crash scene just north of the Buford Spring Connector by around 3:45 a.m.
The three occupants of the passenger car were pronounced dead at the scene.
Only one of the occupants, identified as Mercedes Ammamoo, 26, of Austell, has been identified for now.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
The northbound lanes were not resumed until 7:25 a.m.
