Three were killed after a car crash east of Sparwood, in British Columbia on Monday afternoon.
Elk Valley RCMP was at the scene of the crash by just after 2:30 p.m.
The crash took place when a westbound SUV was attempting to pass other vehicles when it hit an eastbound commercial tractor-trailer.
The collision flipped the white full-sized SUV, which then engulfed it almost immediately.
Witnesses on the scene rescued the truck driver before the fire quickly consumed both the vehicles.
It was later found that the SUV had three dead occupants.
The crash is being investigated by Elk Valley RCMP and the BC Coroners Service.
