Three killed after car crash in Stafford County

Three people were killed after a head-on car crash on Sunday evening in Stafford County, Virginia.

The crash took place at 7:39 p.m. on Austin Ridge Drive near Shields Road when a 1995 Lexus SC300 driven by a 33-year-old man was heading south before the driver lost control and veered into oncoming traffic.

The Lexus hit a 2019 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 27-year-old Fredericksburg woman.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, together with a passenger in the Lexus, a 35-year-old woman.

Identities of the victims are yet to be released.

The road was closed due to investigation.
