Three migrants died and seven others were injured on Wednesday after the vehicle they were riding in crashed on a southern Mexican highway.
National Immigration Institute of Mexico said the three dead migrants were from Guatemala and those injured mainly hailed from Guatemala and El Salvador.
The crash took place when the SUV carrying the migrants rolled over close to the Chiapas state capital of Tuxtla Gutierrez, and the driver fled.
It was the third accident that apparently involves migrant smuggling for this month in Chiapas, so far.
The region borders Guatemala.
The institute said six people had died and 22 had been injured in these crashes.
