Three people were killed and three others were injured after a car crash in southeastern Missouri on Sunday night.
The crash took place at about 7 p.m. when six people were traveling northbound in a Ford F-150 on Interstate 55 and the driver of the truck swerved to prevent hitting an animal.
The truck then went off the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver and two of the five passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 20-year-old identified as Audrey Smith from Bridgeton, Missouri was the driver.
Other victims were identified as 19-year-old Mallory Carter from Brighton, and a 20-year-old named Andrew Marzuco of Ste. Genevieve.
Another passenger, a 22-year-old woman from St. Louis, was injured but not seriously.
Two of the other passengers had minor injuries.
Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
