Three students of Indiana State University killed in car crash

Three students of Indiana State University were killed in a single-vehicle accident on Sunday, the university said.

There were five people in the vehicle when it crashed, including several football players.

The crash took place around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in Riley, Indiana when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

It was engulfed when deputies arrived.

Two passengers were being treated for serious injuries.

The driver and two other occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
