Two dead after two-vehicle crash in Hornby, Christchurch

Two people were killed after a crash between a car and a ute on Saturday night in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Officials were called the crash on Halswell Junction Rd, near the intersection with Shands Rd in Hornby, at around 7.40 pm.

The two occupants of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two occupants were admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

The road was closed but it was reopened soon as the police are investigating the crash.
