Two people died and four were injured on Friday evening after multiple vehicles crashed on the Glenn Highway in Anchorage, Alaska.
Patrol officers attended the crash site around 5:50 p.m.
A red Dodge Challenger and a black Mitsubishi Galant were traveling inbound on the Glenn before both lost control, and the Dodge hit a tree by the highway. The two people in that vehicle were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Mitsubishi hit a black Toyota Tundra pickup that was also inbound, and both vehicles before they rolled. The Mitsubishi then hit a silver Chevy Silverado that was outbound from Anchorage before both vehicles caught fire.
The driver of the Mitsubishi and a passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
The two people in the Toyota Tundra were hospitalized with non-threatening injuries.
Identities of the victims are yet to be released.
Northbound and southbound lanes of the highway between Muldoon Road and Boniface Parkway were closed for some hours.
The highway resumed around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Anchorage Police Department is investigating the crash and has urged people to contact them at 907-786-8900 with information about the crash.
