Two people are dead in a fatal car crash in Onslow County, North Carolina.
The incident took place on Highway 53 near the intersection of Pony Farm Road.
The officials said one vehicle caught fire in the crash and that two people were stuck inside.
There were three other injuries, including a bystander who was injured while he was attempting to help. They were taken to Naval Medical Center. Their conditions are unknown.
Officials say Highway 53, between Haws Run Road and Foy Lockamy Road, was shut for most of the afternoon as the investigation into the crash continued.
