Two dead in truck accident after pursuit in Knoxville

Two people are dead following a pursuit on Wednesday night in Knoxville, Tennessee.

A Chevrolet pickup truck driving recklessly was spotted by the officials in the Clinton Highway and Pleasant Ridge Road Area around 11:30 p.m.

The driver started to flee when the officer tried to conduct a traffic stop.

The officer was able to get the license plate number.

The pursuit lasted seven minutes and it was over when the driver went over the railroad track in the 7500 block of Ball Camp Pike and hit a tree before losing control of his vehicle.

The driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their identities were not released as of yet.

The pursuit and wreck are under investigation by Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
