Two killed after car crashes into oil tanker truck in Islip

Two men were killed after a car crash that involved an oil tanker truck in Islip, New York on Saturday morning.

The crash took place when a Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Route 111 when it entered into the northbound land, hitting an oil tanker truck at the intersection of Ironwood Street at around 3:35 a.m.

The driver and passenger of the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the oil tanker truck was not injured.

Islip Avenue was closed Saturday morning from West Tamarack Street to Ironwood Street as the officials investigate the crash.

It is yet to be known what caused it.
