Two people were killed after a car hit a golf cart in Iredell County, North Carolina on Monday night.
The crash took place on Fort Dobbs Road near Statesville.
There were five people were in the golf cart.
As it was going down the road, a car moving in the opposite direction crossed the center line before striking it.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
The two victims have been identified as the driver of the golf cart, a 39-year-old identified as Michael Shane Marlowe, and a 5-year-old passenger named Bentley Marlowe
Four others were critically injured.
They were aged 2, 13, 16, and 26. They were hospitalized by medical helicopters to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
The driver of the 2009 Honda Accord, identified as a 23-year-old named Austin Ray Harmon, of Statesville, has been arrested and charged with driving while impaired, two counts of felony death by vehicle, and three counts of felony serious injury by vehicle.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
